Glee actor Cory Monteith has been found dead this morning. The 31 year-old, who plays Finn Hudson, was found in his hotel room in Vancouver on Saturday, with the police confirming that there was no evidence of foul play.
Monteith was last seen in video footage returning to his
hotel room on the Friday night, and was due to check out on Saturday. Police do
not yet know the cause of death, and will be carrying out an autopsy on Monday.
He had recently completed a stint in rehab for substance
addiction, and seemed to have put it behind him when he made an appearance at
the Chrysalis Butterfly ball with girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele.
Tributes have poured in for Monteith across social media.
Fox released a statement on Twitter shortly after the news was announced,
saying ‘We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional
talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and
we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family
and loved ones ‘People are also expressing their sympathy for Lea Michele, with “prayforlea” trending on Twitter.
