At the Warner Bros panel at Comicon yesterday, Zack Snyder announced a Superman and Batman team up movie.
If it's true, the talk is that Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman from Man of Steel and they'll recast Batman because Christian Bale has bloody had enough. The title is supposedly going to be "World's Finest", the same as the Superman/Batman crossover comic book series which ran from from '41 to '86. I bet they don't call it that though. They'll call it Batman & Superman: World's Finest, if anything.
Zack Snyder is directing and co-writing with David S. Goyer, and the movie will effectively be a sequel to Man of Steel. Other confirmed returning actors include Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams and Diane Lane.
The idea is to expand the DC Cinematic Universe in a way that's not a total rip-off of what Marvel's been doing for 6 years, in anticipation of the planned Justice League movie coming one day in the future when they get their act together.
Rumours around Comicon are that Warner Bros and DC will also be announcing a movie version of The Flash, to be released in 2017, with Justice League tying the whole thing together in 2017. Of course they might not do any of that.
It might be Green Lantern 2.
