I swear this is not one of those made up stories like Bigfoot or Jesus. It would appear that a member of the design team on both recent Star Trek films has been getting his jollies off by sneaking R2-D2 in to CGI scenes.
Rumours first fizzled about this after the DVD release of the 2009 film when this screen shot appeared on line.
You can clearly see little R2 but the thing looks obviously photoshopped so I never bothered to check until now.
Get your copy of Star Trek 2009 (Which you obviously paid for and didn't just download) and go to exactly 47:39. And look there he is.
Now check this out from the recent Star Trek Into Darkness. Drum roll…..
Shit just got real.
