It’s a problem for governments across the planet and few
have a workable solution: how do you save an ailing economy? Well India’s
central bank has a more novel approach than most...
When the government received a letter from Yogi Swami
Shobhan Sarkar telling them about how he dreamt there was 1,000 tons of gold
buried beneath a ruined palace, instead of throwing it in the trash they assembled
a team of archaeologists to go digging. It’s not stealing though, Mr. Sarkar
said the ghost of the palace’s dead ruler told him it was ok.
It is estimated that half as much gold as is stored in Fort
Knox is being held in Indian temples as offerings to the gods although
worshippers are generally unwilling to hand it over.
