Fancy being In Star Wars? You Can Be

Star wars Episode VII are holding open auditions around the country this week.

If you have spent many an hour spinning your mum's broom stick around and cracking it on your siblings head, then your dreams of becoming a Jedi master may be about to come true.

According to a casting notice the film-makers are looking to fill two roles.

They are looking for a "street smart and strong" orphaned girl in her late teens and a "smart capable" man in his late teens or early 20s.

The open auditions for a "major Hollywood Movie" were first published on the twitter account @UKopencall, which announced a "nationwide search for lead roles for a Disney movie".

The story first appeared on the BBC who stated that Lucas films have declined to comment but also said the following, suggesting that they indeed do have confirmation from an inside source.

“Director JJ Abrams, who is also co-scripting the movie, will not be attending the open auditions which begin in Bristol on 9 November. Instead those at the auditions, who must be over the age of 16 for the female role, and over 18 for the male role, will briefly meet members of the casting team of the film”

The characters have been given very non sci fi names in a attempt to keep this under wraps but everything about it suggests Star Wars. The vague description of the characters is almost identical to a previous Star wars casting calls from the start of the process, so it would seem they are still looking to fill these two leading roles with fresh talent.

This is not the first time Star Wars has given major roles to little known actors and actresses, they have done it a few times through the six films including casting the then unknown Mark Hamill in the role of Luke Skywalker.

Here’s all the info on the actual casting call.

Wireless managed to obtain a leaked video which outlines the skills the casting team are looking for.
