The slow-moving sequel to actually very good movie Horrible Bosses has been plagued by delays ever since it was greenlit.
The original writers, John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein, were hired on the spot in 2011 when Horrible Bosses made even $1 over its budget,
Bateman returned for Arrested Development Series 4 exclusive to Netflix, and is primed to rejoin the Bluth family again on the big screen when the movie follow-up starts production next year. Charlie Day just did a small monster movie called Pacific Rim and Jason Sudeikis already has a movie coming out this year plus two movies in production.
Now on top of that original director Seth Gordon has jumped ship, citing scheduling conflicts as the reason. Seems all this effing around has caused the production to run out of time, and Gordon has got a few things of his own to be getting on with.
Family dramedy "The Goldbergs" is coming to ABC at the back of this year, and is apprently something akin to The Wonder Years (Ask your older brother), plus the remake of WarGames and a movie about videogames for Adam Sandler's company called "Pixels". He needs to get going on all this stuff and can't be expected to sit around on his thumbs waiting for New Line to get their act together.
As of right now there is no director for Horrible Bosses 2, and New Line are scrabbling around trying to find one as quick as possible. They also need to get signatures on paper if they want to see returns from Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston and Jamie Foxxx.
