Grant is the
latest actor to be cast for director Guy Ritchie’s cinematic adaptation of the
1960’s television show, The Man From
U.N.C.L.E.
Based on the
award winning television show,
the film will follow a group of special agents
who work for the mysterious company United Network Command for Law Enforcement
– they could have thought of a better name couldn’t they like BAMF? Although
the villain has not been revealed yet, in the television show their archenemy
was THRUSH, you did read that right, and as some people will tell you, THRUSH
enjoys repeat attacks! I wonder if someone has told them that their acronyms
for their teams suck!
However, with
Ritchie at the helm, his previous work includes the Sherlock Holmes films and Snatch,
it is positive that the film will certainly be more interesting hopefully with
the usual Ritchie slow motion gun shots, explosions and scenes of destruction.
According to
reports Grant will have a supporting role as the head of British Naval
Intelligence, despite Grant, ironically, campaigning against people spying on
him in the phone hacking scandal. Joining him will be Armie Hammer, played the
twins in The Social Network, Alicia
Vikander and Superman himself, Henry Cavill.
With
production set to begin in September, studios are hoping for a 2014 release.
