Transformers 4 is upon us (July 10th 2014) and Michael Bay is coming back with giant robots knocking the bejesus out of one another while foolish mortals rush around at their feet screaming and getting blown up. He's recast the entire franchise, and he's pulled a somewhat brave and very pleasing move by not rebooting the whole thing at the same time.
We're REJOINING the Transformers, not starting from scratch, with the movie which up until now has been called Transformers 4 or T4. It's got a pretty impressive cast with Mark Wahlberg (star of Michael Bay's recent and excellent Pain & Gain) and Stanley Tucci (from Hunger Games and being ace) and a host of Chinese superstars too.
Last week Bay confirmed that T4 would finally feature the long awaited Dinobots, robots in disguise as giant metal T-Rex's and the like, and today Paramount have officially announced the title of the movie and released a teaser poster to celebrate.
It's not called Transformers: Apocalypse and it's thank God not called Tr4nsformers or Trans4mers.
It's called Transformers: Age of Extinction!
The sandy logo suggests we're going back to the desert. Either that or the sand indicates where the Dinobots are found buried, if indeed they are. Plot points are sketchy, alright? No one outside the people making this thing know what's gonna happen... but I bet at one point a girl leans sexily over a motorbike for no reason.
