Preview Pics & Synopsis Revealed For Amazing Spider-Man 2

The full trailer is just a couple of days away now, but Sony have at last revealed a full on proper synopsis and new images for next year’s sure-to-be-a-hit movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

“We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man,” said Sony.

"Thor" Actress Jaimie Alexander Rumoured for Wonder Woman

Thor 2: The Darkworld made over £68,500,000 this weekend, and it's not even out in American yet, but actress Jaimie Alexander who plays female Lady Sif maybe be about to swap her shield for... another... different kind of shield. And some rope.

Alexander was at the Comikaze Expo this weekend when she revealed she'd been in talks with Warner Bros about the possibility of her playing Wonder Woman, and the other possibility of her debut coming in Batman vs Superman. She didn't those things overtly, because no one ever does unless they're Samuel L. Jackson, but she admitted to knowing the plot of the upcoming DC Comics movie which is set to star Ben Affleck as Batman and a returning Henry Cavill as Superman.

Joe Cornish (Adam & Joe Show) Could Direct Star Trek 3

With the departure of reboot captain J.J Abrams, the modern Star Trek franchise needs a new man at the helm and rumours abound that the man they want is "Attack the Block" director Joe Cornish.

It's been a funny old journey for Cornish, who started on Channel 4 in the 90's with "The Adam and Joe Show" with comedian and buddy Adam Buxton, transitioning with him to XFM and then 6 Music followed by his directorial debut in 2011. He's been writing Marvel's "Ant Man" with Edgar Wright for several years and now he's been placed firmly at the top of Paramount's list to take over from Abrams on the next Trek.

Idris Elba to Battle Dinosaurs in Jurassic World

We're already well into the casting of Jurassic World in which dinosaurs presumably go mental and destroy London while America bravely fights them off.

Or not! Because rumour has it that British actor and all around excellent bad ass gentleman Idris Elba has been signed up to play a major role in the movie. He's from Hackney, which before the hipsters all moved in looked a bit like a Triceratops had been at it for a while, so he's not likely to get behind wrecking the place further. Not now it's got all those antique shops.

Charlie Hunnam Pulls Out of Fifty Shades of Grey Movie

The Hollywood adaptation of mum-frapping fodder novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" has come to something of a halt this weekend when Charlie Hunnam, set to play semi-titular Christian Grey, walked away from the project. 

British-born Hunnam, known to most from Sons of Anarchy and Pacific Rim, was cast a little while back as the S in the book's S&M relationship, the M being unbelievably named Anastasia Steele as currently played by Dakota Johnson. When he was first cast there was strong fan backlash as many of the nimble-fingered housewives who'd fallen for Christian Grey (in the bath when no one was in) couldn't quite picture Hunnam as their arse-paddling dream man.

The Harry Potter series started as a pretty good kids movie about magic and ended as a series of excuses to throw water at Emma Watson and look at her all wet, but then it all ended and since then Hollywood has been looking for The Next Harry Potter.

Julianne Moore Cast in Hunger Games: Mockingjay

Word's been circling for a while that flame haired screen icon Julianne Moore (Boogie Nights, The Kids Are Alright) had been approached to play President Alma Coin in the 2 part movie of Mockingjay, the third book in the Hunger Games series.

Well, she was approached and now she's signed and she's in. Julianne Moore WILL play Alma Coin, leader of the resistance and mightily dodgy politician type in the 3rd (and then 4th) Hunger Games film.

The proposed sequel to Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, which I reviewed HERE (warning: scathingly) has been unfortunately delayed because the first movie only just made over half its money back. It was a failure, is what I'm saying.

Nick Cave's insane Gladiator sequel that never was

Australian musician Nick Cave has been busy lately. Alongside touring his 15th Bad Seeds studio album, Push the Sky Away, he's also been working on pseudo-documentary 20,000 Days on Earth, which is slated for cinematic release next year. 

22 Jump Street Plot Details Revealed

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as back as Schmidt and Jenko, a pair of (relatively) baby-faced cops who get drafted into the Jump Street Division and sent to infiltrate schools and weed out crime. This time though they're off to college, and have apparently moved over the road because the sequel to 21 Jump Street (the address of their headquarters) is called 22 Jump Street.

Jack Nicholson Retires

Hollywood Legend and terrifying face of smiling evil Jack Nicholson has quietly retired from acting at the age of 76. 

He's been working solidly for damn near 50 years, going from edgy cynic in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest right through his movie stealing performance of The Joker in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman movie, to his later roles as the grumpy old sod in As Good As It Gets.

Transformers 4 Gets A Title

Transformers 4 is upon us (July 10th 2014) and Michael Bay is coming back with giant robots knocking the bejesus out of one another while foolish mortals rush around at their feet screaming and getting blown up. He's recast the entire franchise, and he's pulled a somewhat brave and very pleasing move by not rebooting the whole thing at the same time.

No Cumberbatch for Star Wars VII

Since J.J Abrams took over from batshit accidental genius George Lucas on the Star Wars franchise, the rumours about who he'd cast as who have been numerous and loud. At one point a very good case was made for a female actor to play Han Solo, and Jennifer Lawrence's name got thrown into the pot. Turns out that's not true obviously, because there are only three women in the entire Star Wars Universe, and it also turns out that Benedict Cumberbatch having been cast in the movie isn't true either.

James Spader, who you may remember from the 80's (or from his performance as Robert California in the last couple of series of The American Office) will bring life to the title villain of the next Avengers movie when he takes on the role of Ultron.

Sony & Ubisoft to make "Watch Dogs" Movie

It's not even out yet, but Sony Pictures have flung huge gobs of money at developer Ubisoft to get their hands on the movie rights to "Watch Dogs".

The game follows Aiden Pierce, a master hacker and former bad boy whose life of crime was directly responsible for a family tragedy. Now he's tooling around a future Chicago, hacking into anything and everything he damn well pleases, looking for revenge. You can locate people using CCTV, download information about them and even divert traffic in your favour to escape getting shot to bits by police. 

Top Six Best Bad Movies

The era of the terrible film that everyone inexplicably loves is here! Right the way back from Piranha 3D to the furor surrounding SyFy's release of Sharknado, a film that took the internet by storm for a good solid 8 days, it seems that zombies are out and enormous creatures are back in again! Thank God for that!

A lot of these bad movies are just plain bad, like Vinnie Jones vehicle "Legend of the Bog" which is just him and some other people sludging around the woods in the dark for an hour and a half looking for any excuse to fit the word "Bog" into their sentences.
