Porn Star Used In BBC McCann Reconstruction

Crimewatch reveals porn star acted in McCann abduction reconstruction, gaining it largest ever audience of 6.7 million.

More than 7.3 million people watched Mark Sloans’ empathetic portrayal of Dr Matt Oldfield, a friend of Kate and Gerry McCann, whose daughter Madeline was abducted from her Portugese hotel room in 2007. But how many of them knew that the 45 year old was previously employed as an adult entertainer.

These days you can hardly flick the channel without saying “oh, didn’t that guy play thingy in that thing that was on the other day?”, or “I’m pretty sure I saw him buying a bacon butty from Roy in Corrie.” But not so many people will be familiar with Sloans’ other credits.

They include titles such as, Sherlock Bones, Dr Screw, Tight Rider and From Dusk Til Porn. Not exactly a bit-part in Eastenders but everyone has to make a living somehow.

His one line in the reconstruction by the broadcaster was the innocent comment, “everything’s fine, all quiet”, after checking on Madeleine while the group dined in their holiday complex.

Yet his former agent is in agreement with those in protest of the casting.

“How could the casting director not know of his background when they picked him? It’s all over Google. Did no one check? It is unbelievably stupid,’ the agent, who asked not to be named, told the Daily Star,Mark is such a nice guy and had been trying to get into serious acting but there is a stigma attached to actors who work in pornography.’

All of this comes as more than 1000 people contacted police after seeing the new video, based on fresh evidence regarding her disappearance coming to light.

The Bristol-based actor claims in his online profile to be a former sniper and photographer for the British army and to have carried out two tours of Northern Ireland during the 1980s, during the Troubles.

Labour MP John Mann demanded that the BBC answer questions about their choice of actor.

He said: “They’ve clearly made a mistake on this. This is not the standard we expect from the BBC.”

The beeb refused to comment, as did a spokesperson for the McCanns.

It’s not all bad news though. The former porn star claims that working in the porn industry has improved his acting.

Maybe we’ll reserve judgement for Sherlock Bones 2.
