British dance legends The Prodigy have been
announced as the third and final headliner at next year’s Sonisphere Festival.
The event that runs from July 4th-6th
marks the 40th anniversary of festivals hosted at Knebworth Park in
Hertfordshire and also features Metal legends Iron Maiden and Metallica playing
on the same British bill for the first time in their long and illustrious
careers.
Basically this year will be an odd
combination of tracksuits, long hair and leather while everyone gets off their
tits bouncing about to Voodoo People. All this now needs is Skrillex to bring
his electronic chainsaw noises and drag along his mates in Korn to create a
gargantuan musical gangbang the likes of which has not been seen since the rap metal
glory days of 2001.
Like a phoenix rising from the flames of
two cancelled events, Sonisphere is lacing up its boxing gloves to go toe to
toe with Download for the 2014 rock festival crown. Booking three of the
biggest bands in the world to headline is a good start.
Earlybird discounted weekend tickets are
currently on sale online at all good ticketing outlets.
