Idiot spends £1000 in Nandos trying to win a Closed Competition

Sometimes we all go a little bit over the top trying to win competitions, either because we really want the prize, or because we just really like winning.

I once bought 70% of all the tickets in a tombola to win an Easter egg. Not a good one, just your ordinary Easter egg. I was a kid, and it totally worked, so be quiet. The point is, we all get carried away from time to time, and from that perspective Christopher Poole behaved just like anyone would with his attempts to win a Nando’s black card.

Dead Frog found in Pret a Manger Salad

Let’s imagine that you’ve got a job. You’ve been working hard all day in the office, and when lunchtime comes around you decide to head down to Pret a Manger to pick up a delicious salad to take back to your desk. You figure it’ll be tasty and super-healthy, especially as it’s organic. That’s certainly what an employee at the Wall Street Journal did recently.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t totally prepared for quite how organic that salad would turn out to be.

Supermarket Re-sells Meat Found in Thief’s Pants

A convenience store in Canada recently discovered a man trying to steal from them by stuffing the goods down his trousers. So they did what any good store would do in that situation. They removed the goods from the man’s trousers and re-sold them to the unsuspecting public.

Jeffrey Feehan, a 29 year old man, decided to rob a convenience store. But he wanted to put his own spin on it and do something original. So that meant he couldn’t hold up the cashier at gunpoint, or go round with a large empty bag or stuff small items in his pockets. Those are all played out, common forms of thievery. That’s not how Jeffrey plays, he likes to be unique. So he decided to take $71 (£41) worth of chicken breasts, bacon and steak down his trousers to join his own meat.

Christmas Tinner; Christmas Dinner in a Can for Serious Gamers

It’s December and that means it’s nearly Christmas. And that means one thing and one thing only. Every other company will be bringing out some kind of novelty Christmas product.

Most of them will be half-arsed or simply an existing product with a snowman scrawled on the front. But a few will be original, hilarious, even actually worth buying (although you may find a lot of the half-arsed ones in your stocking or Secret Santa gifts).

Lazer Guided Pizza Cutter Guarantees Perfect Slice Every Time

There is now a tactical lazer guided pizza cutter.

No, this is not a downloadable feature or extra content for COD, this is simply a gadget to make the world a better place.

Woman Finds Worm in Her Chicken Tikka Slice!

We’ve all moaned in the past about food not tasting that good and comparing it to dog food and the likes, but a certain gruesome discovery was made when one unlucky customer tucked into her chicken tikka slice.

Forget about horse meat! Kathy Thompson of Barnstaple, Devon was eating a chicken tikka slice bought from large supermarket chain, Iceland when she claimed she had found a worm in it.

Rabbi Says Soy Beans Make You Gay

A Rabbi from the ultra-orthodox Hasidic yeshiva of Gur sect has banned soy beans, claiming that they encourage gay sex amongst his students.

A report in HaMevasser stated that the Rabbi feared the hormones in soy based products are capable of damaging the spirituality of the boys and make them mature sexually at an accelerated rate. He also believes this would cause confusion resulting in unwanted homosexual arousal. Because that makes perfect sense.

Whatever Happened to Toys in Cereal?

It’s been a long time since breakfast was exciting. Nothing quite compares to the sweet smelling assortments of delicious cereals I was presented with as a child.

Kentucky Fried Soup Goes on Sale

As of tomorrow, KFC stores will start selling, for a limited time, a thing that can be truthfully described as Kentucky Fried Soup. This is obviously happening in Japan, which exists in a time-warped bubble about 40 years ahead of the rest of the planet. The potage (a kind of creamy corn porridge) is said to crisp up nice when fried in the secret herbs and spices, but remain soft on the inside.

The recipe apparently comes from the late great Colonel himself; found in his autobiography (there are recipes in the man's autobiography!) is the process of making a bacon potato fritter type thing, which the Japanese have tweaked in their neon starlabs to create these delicious nuggets.

Turd Burger Anyone?

The Japanese are clearly more technologically advanced than the rest of us. Their toilets are smarter than our children and the only reason they don't all walk around in enormous metal Gundam suits is because it's not polite. But I have to think that this latest innovation might be taking things to a sort of limit.

Scientist Mitsuyuki Ikeda from the Okayama Laboratory has apparently always been bothered by waste of all kinds. He hates to see perfectly good materials discarded when they could just as easily be repurposed. Unfortunately he's not conducting a study into turning your old wine bottles into candle holders. He wants you to turn your old shit into food.

Whatever Happened to Sunny Delight?

Originally marketed as a 'healthy alternative' to fizzy pop, Sunny Delight was the sickly coloured wonder drink that kids could guzzle through a whole Simpsons marathon without being told off by their parents.

This was because the clever people at Procter & Gamble had somehow convinced us that despite essentially being a concentrated dose of diabetes, it was actually good for us. To understand how they got away with this for so long you have to realise it was the 90's: healthy food hadn't been invented yet. Chips glowed in the dark, meat was made of synthetics and buying vegetables was just a cause for your girlfriend to question your sexuality.
